Rangers Secure Top 2026 Draft Picks Rojas, Comeau, and Bumila

The Texas Rangers have finalized contracts with their top three picks from the 2026 MLB Draft, including pitcher Gio Rojas, infielder Connor Comeau, and pitcher Brody Bumila. This announcement marks a significant step in the team's efforts to bolster its roster for the coming years.

Gio Rojas, selected as the 16th overall pick, has reportedly signed for a bonus of $4.6 million, which is slightly below the expected slot value. Connor Comeau, chosen at 54th overall, received a bonus of $2.5 million, exceeding his slot value by approximately $700,000. Meanwhile, Brody Bumila, who was anticipated to be a first-round selection before medical concerns regarding his UCL emerged, signed for $2.75 million, which is close to $2 million above his expected slot.

The total bonuses for these three players contribute to the Rangers' overall expenditure, which has now surpassed $10 million. The team's designated bonus pool stands at $10,219,000, contingent upon the successful signing of additional draft picks, including fourth-rounder Hudson Calhoun and eighth-rounder Kolby Branch. Notably, teams can exceed their bonus pool by up to 5% without facing penalties regarding future draft selections.
