Moussa Cisse Signs Offer Sheet with Knicks, Mavericks Have 48 Hours to Respond

Moussa Cisse, a restricted free agent center, has reportedly signed an offer sheet with the New York Knicks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. The Dallas Mavericks, who employed Cisse last season, now have 48 hours to decide whether to match the offer.

Cisse's contract is structured with half of his salary guaranteed for the 2026-2027 season, while the second year remains non-guaranteed. Specific financial details of the offer have not been disclosed.

Last season, Cisse played in 38 games for the Mavericks, averaging 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. His performance contributed to Dallas's frontcourt depth, and his potential departure could leave a gap.

The Knicks are looking to bolster their roster following the departure of Mitchell Robinson, who signed with the Boston Celtics. While New York has also added veteran Andre Drummond, Cisse's youth at 23 years old would provide valuable depth alongside the experienced player.

Cisse's journey in college basketball included stints at Memphis, Oklahoma State, and Ole Miss before returning to Memphis for his final season. He went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft but found a role with the Mavericks last year.
