Meleek Thomas Shines in Cavaliers' Summer League Finale
59 days agoThe Cleveland Cavaliers capped off their Summer League campaign with a 100-91 win against the Chicago Bulls, highlighted by a standout performance from Meleek Thomas, who scored 24 points.
Thomas's scoring ability was on full display, even though he started the game slow, missing his first four shots. He eventually found his rhythm, making 10 of his final 16 attempts, including a perfect 5-for-5 in the restricted area.
Throughout the Summer League, Thomas demonstrated an impressive ability to create space and finish at the rim, a noticeable improvement from his college days. His lethal outside shooting has also contributed to his strong scoring performances.
While questions remain about his adaptability to an off-ball role in the NBA, Thomas's natural scoring instinct and ability to read defenses have been evident. He plays with a level of intensity and purpose that is promising for his future.
In addition to Thomas, Riley Minix rebounded from earlier struggles with 12 points, while Malaki Branham added 13 points and five assists, and Tre’Von Spillers contributed 12 points and nine rebounds off the bench.
