BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2: Teams, Format, and Prize Breakdown
58 days agoThe BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 tournament is scheduled to commence next week, featuring a total of 32 teams. Of these, 28 teams qualified through the Global VRS as of June 2, while four additional teams received Wildcard invitations. Notably absent from this year's lineup are prominent teams such as Natus Vincere, 9z, BetBoom, Legacy, and PARIVISION.
The tournament will kick off with an online phase, where the first two rounds of single-elimination playoffs will take place. Each round will begin with a draft phase, allowing teams seeded in the lower half to select opponents from the upper half. The online portion is set to run from July 21 to July 26, featuring four matches per day.
Following the online matches, the top eight teams will advance to the LAN segment of the tournament, which will be held in Malta from July 30 to August 2. This transition allows teams three days to prepare for the live competition.
The prize pool for BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2 totals $1.15 million, divided into $500,000 in prize money and a $650,000 club share. Instead of a conventional prize distribution, each team will have a designated "bounty" based on their seeding. The winning team will earn 50% of their opponent's bounty as a cash prize, while the remaining 50% will be carried over to their next match.
An eight-member on-air talent team will cover the event, including familiar faces such as James "BARDOLPH" Bardolph and Daniel "ddk" Kapadia, alongside Conner "Scrawny" Girvan and Mohan "launders" Govindasamy. Additionally, the official HLTV Fantasy game will feature two formats: a non-seasonal game for the online matches and a seasonal game for the LAN phase starting from the quarter-finals.
