Dodgers to Feature Godzilla Bobbleheads in Season Finale Against Padres
60 days agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers are enhancing their pop-culture presence with a unique promotion planned for their regular-season home finale against the San Diego Padres. On September 24, fans attending the game at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium will receive a special Godzilla Minus Zero bobblehead, marking a collaboration with one of Japan's most iconic entertainment brands, TOHO.
The first 40,000 ticketed attendees will be gifted the collectible, which features Godzilla dressed in Dodgers gear, complete with a blue LA batting helmet and a white jersey labeled '0.0'. The design showcases the monster standing atop a wrecked stadium scene, surrounded by flames, with 'Godzilla Minus Zero' inscribed on the base.
In addition to the bobblehead giveaway, fans can look forward to a Godzilla-themed drone show following the game. The event serves as a promotional launch for TOHO's upcoming film, Godzilla Minus Zero, which is set to hit theaters on November 6. The movie, directed by Takashi Yamazaki, continues the Godzilla saga in a narrative set in 1949.
Keiji Ota, Senior Managing Executive Officer at TOHO, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the shared legacy of both the Dodgers and Godzilla in captivating audiences worldwide. This collaboration represents a significant step in TOHO's global expansion of the Godzilla brand, merging the iconic monster's legacy with the vibrant energy of the Dodgers.
