PGL Masters Bucharest Set to Feature 12 Invited Teams, Falcons Decline

PGL has revealed the twelve teams that have been invited to participate in the upcoming PGL Masters Bucharest, taking place from October 24 to 31 in Romania. This prestigious event boasts a prize pool of $1,250,000 and will conclude just ahead of the November 2 cut-off for the PGL Singapore Major invites.

Notably, Falcons, ranked among the top teams as of July 6, are the only elite squad to turn down the invitation, which allowed The MongolZ to claim the last available spot in the tournament.

The event will feature a competitive roster, including well-known teams such as Spirit, Vitality, Natus Vincere, FURIA, G2, and the defending champions, Aurora. Aurora will enter the tournament with a revamped roster following off-season changes.

Additionally, BetBoom and 9z secured their invitations after reaching the quarter-finals at the IEM Cologne Major. Last year's runners-up, Legacy, are also set to compete, now featuring Santino "try" Rigal in place of Guilherme "saadzin" Pacheco as they seek to improve on their previous performance.

The tournament format will consist of a Swiss group stage, leading to a single-elimination playoff bracket. The final four participants will be determined through regional qualifiers held across Europe, Asia, and the Americas in September, culminating in a best-of-five grand final.
