Carlos Alcaraz Set to Return at Cincinnati Open After Injury Layoff

Carlos Alcaraz, the world number three and seven-time Grand Slam champion, is preparing for his return to competitive tennis at the Cincinnati Open next month. This comes after a wrist injury sustained during the Barcelona Open in April kept him off the tour.

Since his injury, Alcaraz has withdrawn from both the French Open and Wimbledon, missing the opportunity to defend his title at Roland Garros. Although he will not participate in the Canadian Open, which takes place from August 2-13, he is set to compete in the Cincinnati Open from August 13-23.

The 23-year-old Spaniard is eager to demonstrate his readiness for the US Open, the final Grand Slam of the year, where he is the reigning champion. Alcaraz is also the defending champion at the Cincinnati Open, having won the title last year when Jannik Sinner had to retire from the final due to illness.
