Michael Page Set for Middleweight Clash Against Ruziboev at UFC Paris
61 days agoMichael 'Venom' Page, a prominent figure in mixed martial arts, is scheduled to face Nursulton Ruziboev from Uzbekistan in a middleweight bout at UFC Paris on September 5. Page, who has a professional record of 25 wins out of 28 fights, last competed in March, securing a decision victory over fellow English fighter Sam Patterson.
At 39 years old, Page signed with the UFC in 2023 after a successful nine-year stint with Bellator, where he gained a reputation as one of the sport's most exciting competitors. In his brief UFC career, he has achieved four victories in five matches but expressed disappointment over not being matched against higher-profile opponents prior to his fight with Patterson.
Ruziboev, 32, is currently on a three-fight winning streak and holds the 15th position in the UFC middleweight rankings. Despite his recent success, he remains relatively unknown in the MMA community, similar to Patterson.
This upcoming fight will mark Page's return to the middleweight division after competing at welterweight against Patterson. The London native has indicated his intention to fight in both weight classes to broaden his opportunities for competition.
In addition to Page's matchup, the UFC Paris card will feature Lithuanian-British light-heavyweight Modestas Bukauskas against France's Oumar Sy, as well as British featherweight Kurtis Campbell facing American Trevor Peek. The main event for the evening has yet to be announced.
