Tokito Oda Triumphs Over Alfie Hewett in Wimbledon Wheelchair Singles Final

Tokito Oda of Japan has claimed his third men's wheelchair singles title at Wimbledon, overpowering Great Britain's Alfie Hewett with a decisive score of 6-1, 6-1 in the final held on Court One.

As the top seed and defending champion, Oda showcased his dominance, marking his sixth consecutive Grand Slam singles title. The 20-year-old has remained unbeaten at the major tournaments since losing to Hewett in the 2025 Australian Open final.

Despite his success in the men's wheelchair doubles alongside Gordon Reid the previous day, Hewett struggled in the singles match, serving a total of ten double faults. After the match, he expressed disappointment but acknowledged Oda's remarkable performance, congratulating him on his achievement.

Oda and Hewett have been the leading figures in men's wheelchair tennis, sharing all 14 Grand Slam titles contested since early 2023, with Oda winning ten and Hewett securing four. Oda's latest victory brings him level with Hewett at ten Grand Slam singles titles, trailing only Shingo Kunieda's record of 28.
