Panchaya Channoi Triumphs Over Reanne Evans in Women's World Snooker Final

Panchaya Channoi, an 18-year-old from Thailand, has claimed the Women's World Snooker Championship title by defeating Reanne Evans 6-2 in the final held in Dongguan, China. Channoi's victory marks a significant achievement as she becomes the second player to win both the world and Under-21 titles, following China's Bai Yulu.

Evans, a seasoned player and widely regarded as the most successful in women's snooker history, was aiming for her 13th championship title. However, she struggled against Channoi, who established dominance early in the match with a century break in the first frame, leading to a 3-1 advantage.

Despite Evans managing to win one frame, Channoi responded with a break of 107 in the sixth frame, extending her lead to 4-2. Channoi continued her strong performance by clinching the seventh frame and securing the championship with a break of 59 in the eighth, earning the prestigious Mandy Fisher Trophy.

This final marked Evans' first appearance in a World Snooker Championship final since 2019, and it was also the first time she faced defeat in a final of this tournament. Channoi's victory adds her name to the list of Thai champions, following in the footsteps of Mink Nutcharut and Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan.
