Antoine Griezmann agrees Atlético Madrid departure

Atlético Madrid legend Antoine Griezmann has agreed on the terms of a summer departure from the club.

This comes amid confirmation that the Frenchman is primed to put pen to paper on terms with Major League Soccer outfit Orlando City.

Griezmann has of course long been tipped for a move to the USA, as the veteran frontman enters the twilight years of his iconic career.

At one point in January, a mid-season exit even appeared to be on the cards for the former Barcelona man.

And though, in the end, Griezmann made the call to stay put in Spain through the campaign’s close, he will be on the move in the summer.

As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:

‘Antoine Griezmann to Orlando City, here we go! Verbal agreement in place for French star to join MLS side. Agreement on deal for July 2026, free transfer from Atlético.’
